Subduction Zone

Most subdution zones are created when diverging oceanic plates are pushed agianst less dense continental plates which is called convergence. The denser oceanic plates subduct under the continental plate creating a trench. These subduction zones produce massive amounts of friction and can cause earthquakes. These earthquakes can greatly affect humans as they can have devistating effects on our citys and structures. Subduction zones are directly corralated with volcano formation and volcanic activity. Siesmologists are able to study the magnitude and exact location of the earthquakes.
