Hawaiian Islands

This is a satellite image of the Hawaiian Islands. This photograph from space could be used to show the amount of vegetation available for animals in the area. It could also be used to show the impact of climate change or even different weather patterns.

  1. The big Island has 2 active volcanoes on it, both craters below the white blobs. There is a hotspot under the crust where the big island is creating the volcanoes. As the crust moves to the Northwest, so do the volcanoes with it (as shown by the chain of islands heading to the NW of the big island). They get smaller as they erode away over time.
