Subduction Zone

The Subduction Zone is the place where two lithospheric plates come together, one riding over the other. Most volcanones on land occur parallel to and inland from the boudary between the two plates. Subduction Zones can affect humans by the formation of volcanones and earthquakes.

  1. Oh very interesting! I'm glad that you used the Juan de Fuca Plate because it's close to where we live. Oh I can see mt. St. Helens in the example, quite the volcano if I do say so myself. What's another example of a Subduction Zone?
