The image on the left is an image of mining polluting fresh water sources, heavy metals such as mercury and cadmium seep into our rivers and lakes and pollute our freshwater reserves. This kills fish and surrounding wildlife and makes our drinking water unusable. A solution to this could be filtration systems at mining sites to ensure that these heavy metals are not seeping into our natural environment, taxes on this sort of pollution to discourage it and analternative to storing or ridding the mining site of thesetoxins without destroying the natural habitat.
