Post #15 (introduced) Invasive Species

The image to your left is an image of the invasive species named the Scotch broom. This plant is orginally from Europe and was introduced to North America during the 1800's. It was introduced for ornamental purposes by Europeans who enjoyed the look of it. This plant forms dense stands that which crowd out native species and cause damage to local wildlife. This plant can generally be seen across Victoria and much of North America. It is difficult to remove because of it's tough branches and has more than over-populated many areas.
