Desert Biome Adaptaions

Adaptations for the cactus include: small and spiky leaves that reduce evaporation of water. It also prevents loss of water. The cactus also has a thick and juicy stem that stores water.

Scorpions have have many adaptations for desert living. They have extra layers of fat on their exoskeleton which minimizes water loss. Most are active at night, and spend their days where it is cool and moist under rocks. Scorpions also derive most of their water from their food.
