Layers of snow build up can cause for an avalanche so can a small vibration from a earthquake or even a single human being can cause an avalanche to occur. Also they can happen from a chunk of snow breaking off and plummeting down the steep angle of the mountain even from weather like rain or heavy snow fall. Avalanches can effect humans by people getting trapped and killed within them. Furthermore an avalanche can also effect us humans by hitting small towns or cities, which causes thousands of dollars in costs and even more loss of life.
