Incised Meander

This is a picture of an Incised Meander, which is a deep steep-sided meander formed by severe downwards erosion of an existing meander. This erosion is due to Rejuvenation. Which occurs when sea level drops and the river has to go further to reach base level. An incised meander is in the old age stage of a river.
